Student Clubs & Activities

Chorus

There are two Chorus performances a year. Fifth grade performs the Winter Concert in December and fourth grade performs at the Spring Concert in May.  We sing traditional choral music, current pop and hip hop songs, as well as write original songs for performances. Students also accompany singers with instruments and perform movement and dance.

Environmental Club

The Bear Creek Environmental Club is comprised of 4th and 5th grade students who show leadership qualities and feel passionate about protecting the planet’s resources and spending time outdoors. Students in the Environmental Club work on group projects related to nature, reusing, reducing and recycling as well as community and school projects that help teach others about how they can help the Earth. Our culminating event is a school-wide Environmental Day that includes stations involving plants, animals, environmental topics and hands-on activities that are created and led by club members.

National Elementary Honor Society

Bear Creek’s chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) is comprised of a group of students who meet rigorous academic and behavioral standards. Students who are determined eligible can be inducted in the winter of fourth or fifth grade. Through NEHS, students provide meaningful service to our school and community and develop essential leadership skills.

Student Council

The Student Council of Bear Creek Elementary consists of 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. These students are considered role models in the school and meet rigorous expectations in order to participate in Student Council. These students must also receive a recommendation from their current teacher. The Student Council is committed to contributing to the advancement and success of our school and community. As a group, these students organize fundraisers and events for the entire school. Last year, the Student Council even rewrote the school song!
